Sigmund
Freud, founder of Psycho-Analysis, considered himself a realist,
a true prag-matist and considered all religion to be "...the
universal obsessional neurosis of humanity."
In 1927, Freud said, "[Religious
ideas] are
illusions, fulfillments of the oldest, strongest and most
urgent wishes of mankind. The secret of their strength lies
in the strength of those wishes."
He
thought that religious ideas were built out of the child's
"terrifying
impression of helplessness" giving rise to the
desire for an omnipotent, loving and just "father"
and were fundamentally disconnected from reality.
In
Freud's work "The
Interpretation of Dreams", he clearly states that,
"We have found
that the dream represents a wish as fulfilled."
He thought that illusions, like delusions, were derived from
deeply-felt wishes. So religious ideas are in fact delusions.
Therefore,
the father of Psycho-Analysis, the forerunner to psychiatry,
held the attitude that all religious folks are frightened
children struggling with their feelings of helplessness by
inventing, and trusting in, the illusion of a God that will
fulfill their deepest needs and desires. The universal nature
(and antiquity) of religious sentiment can be explained as
an obsessional neurosis of humanity that evolved from this
need for wish-fullfilment.
Without
disproving one single eye-witness account of religious revelators;
Without
having proven religious principles such as: "Love your
neighbour", "Do not Steal", Karma, etc. as
unhealthy for individuals or society;
Without
scientifically proving a single one of his premises,
Freud
would have us accept his word over God's word and deny our
spirituallity.
...And
he calls
US deluded_

This might help to clarify
why the Foundation for Religious Freedom has become involved in making
a website called nopsychs.org and the soon to come yespirit.org.
The fact is, that our counselors
have personally answered thousands of calls on the new CAN's hotline.
They have spoken at length to hundreds and hundreds of people.
Counselors at FRF have spoken to everyone from parents, brothers and sisters,
lovers, grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors, teachers, social workers,
pastors, lawyers, policemen, city government people, people in children's
services, and many people who run hotlines themselves.
We've spoken to people who are ex-everythings (from ex-Jehovah's Witnesses,
to ex-Christians, to ex-just about everythings).
We've spoken to people who are MEMBERS of just about everything - from
atheist, to fundamentalist Christian, to Catholic, Lutheran, Jew, Hindu,
Buddhist, Unificationist, and MANY people who have worked out their own
religion based on many different experiences with both "mainline" and
all kinds of newer religions.
According to one counselor,
"And in all those conversations - and I spent the best part of two
years, 6-7 hours a day, on the phone or going to interfaith conferences,
etc. I found only a few TRUE common denominators amongst the groups which
were being labeled as 'cults'."
And those common denominators were very different from what the media
and the anti-religionists would have us believe. In fact, the media,
and the anti-cultists have been spreading alarm, fear, and inciting hatred
about groups which really have only a few common denominators. (I'm not
talking about Heaven's Gate which was a VERY VERY VERY unique group!)
I'm talking about what do groups such as the Hare Krishnas, the Scientologists,
the Unificationists, Soko Gakai, Jehovah's Witnesses (all on the top of
the list of dangerous groups in France and Belgium - who got their list
from the American Family Foundation = the US psychiatry based religious
hate organization calling itself a group which warns people of the danger
of religion!) have in common_
MEMBERS OF THESE GROUPS WOULD NEVER TURN TO A PSYCHIATRIST TO SOLVE SPIRITUALLY
BASED EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS AND NEVER NEVER NEVER WOULD THEY TAKE A MIND
ALTERING DRUG TO SORT OUT LIFE'S DIFICULTIES
Our conselor continues, "The
ONLY danger of these groups which psych front groups are labelling as
'dangerous' is that they will expose psychiatry and most psychology as
the house of cards, false science it is and expose it as being based on
false theories; that they will expose these pseudo sciences as founded
on junk science. Thus these religions are a threat to the psych
drug-you-don't-love-you motto."
If, as ALL these "dangerous" groups preach, man is ACTUALLY a spirit inhabitting
a body (true, what happens when this body dies is not something all these
groups agree on, but they do agree that the difference between a dead
man and a live man is that one has a soul/spirit/elan vital inhabiting
it, and the other does not), then ...
THEY ARE DANGEROUS TO PYSHCIATRY AND PSYCHOLOGY.
WHY_ BECAUSE, they KNOW that man's depressions, his upsets, his loves
and his hates ARE NOT the result of brain chemistry.
They quickly see through the psychiatrist's false authority in the political
arena and will FIGHT psychiatry's allocations of millions to enslave man
further with more drugs, with restraints, with intrusions into personal
lives of families, the workplace and schools.
YES, these religions ARE DANGEROUS to one thing - the false position PSYCHIATRY
has assumed for itself in man's societies. Because, with the old CAN GONE,
and so a major voice of hate and lies which was stirring up fear between
one religion and another GONE, what do the psychs KNOW_
That religious people are their ONLY threat. That religious people are
THE ones who will see what psychiatry is REALLY trying to do. That religious
people will recognize that MAN IS MORE THAN MEAT and MORE THAN CHEMICALS.
And so, yes, RELIGIONS are DANGEROUS to psychiatry.
And working together, networking with each other, helping our young people
READ, helping our young adults ATTAIN LIFE SKILLS, RELIGIONS will create
a future where such people will LAUGH at the insane psych theories that
any rational, thinking man (or LITERATE person) can see make no sense.
So, NOPSYCHS/YESPIRIT has been created and it is going to GROW and GROW.
And as more people realize that psychs DON'T handle or help the real problems,
they will turn to their RELIGIOUS LEADERS for help and their local churches
for centering on the important things of life - education, family, doing
work which is valuable, contributing to a community, helping others.
THOSE ARE THINGS WHICH RELIGION TEACHES PEOPLE.
Psychs teach people to be victims, to take a drug and dream of a better
life - but that better life won't happen because the psych wants them
ON THE DRUG AS LONG AS POSSIBLE - that's how the psych gets FUNDED. The
religious person is tax exempt. When his group helps the community,
people DONATE money to him. He doesn't go to governments with false solutions
that make things worse asking for handouts.
And WHO WILL BE HERE AT THE YEAR 2,050_
The PSYCHS_ NO - They will be extinct. Laughed about in the
way witch hunters from 250 years ago are laughed about now. But, even
at the year 3,000 will we have religion_
Because man will learn from
history, as he now has recorded history to view that he didn't at the
year 1,000. And they will see that psychiatry was a false "science"
based on a false premise that denied the spirit of man. And the
men of reason will be victorious, because the truth of the spirit inhabiting
a body making man what he is will persist - because it IS the truth.
And it is RELIGION which addresses those deep questions that arise when
people recognize that they are ALL the same in that regard- in the regard
of their ability to love, to hate, to appreciate beauty, to wonder at
new developments, to laugh at the ridiculous, to be amazed at the incredible.
That is the spirit within us all. And that spirit is what religion
feeds.
And the lies of psychiatry will die. But they will put up a fight.
And the evil that such men with no basis in spirituality would do to men
who are spiritually based must be confronted and recognized for what it
is - evil - not misguided good intentions - but intentions to enslave,
to drug into insensibility, to treat men as animals.
Which we are not.
And so nopsychs/yespirit has been born. And it will grow.
And we will inform the men of spirit, the men who know there is more in
life than a brain with chemical imbalances - that there is a soul which
becomes tormented when it does deeds that harm others, when it takes actions
it has promised not to take, when it does things it is ashamed of - and
then becomes depressed, or upset, or finds life unlivable. And religious
people will see that psychiatry is wrong, is evil and does not belong
in the same room as any man of faith.
So, that is why the FOUNDATION FOR RELIGIOUS FREEDOM has founded the nopsychs.org/yespirit.org
website.
It is about the future, and about man, and his own soul - which is man
himself.
